Puppy Party – 6th December 2012
Puppies are great fun but it can be difficult to find a safe environment for socialising with other dogs. My first Puppy Party is all about creating a situation where puppies can learn from one another and get accustomed to other dogs in a controlled environment. This is the second party to take place and will be on Thursay 6th December at 7pm.
Queen's Jubilee – June 2012
At Godfrey’s Garden Centre, we all got in the spirit to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. There were loads of fun and games for children, and stalls for everyone. My stall sold home made doggy cupcakes, biscuit bones and union jack bandanas to raise money for Thornberry Animal Sanctuary.
Thorberry's Fun Dog Show - August 2012
I attended the fun dog show with Lynsey Cartwright (owner of Walkies Pet Services) to show my support and spend lot's of money!
Alice came 2nd in 'Prettiest Bitch'.
Doggy Day Out – June 2012
At Clifton Park in Rotherham, Nick, Lynsey (Let’s go walkies) and I, had a stand at The Doggy Day Out. The event was organised by Rotherham Council to raise awareness of the responsibilities of dog ownership. I devised an educational quiz about dog-related things us owners face. For every entry that achieved 100% correct answers, I awarded a £10 grooming voucher. I also did a clip off demonstration and a hand stripping demonstration. Lynsey sold home made dog cakes and treats, and a lucky dip to raise money for Thornberry Animal Sanctuary.
Microchipping Event – March 2012
So many dogs go missing and it is heart breaking for the owners. I became a qualified Microchip Implanter when I was a Salon Manager at Pets at Home. I offered half price Micro-chipping at this event to help people, in the recession, to give their dog the best chances of being returned home should they ever get lost. I always offer this service at a competitive price.
Photo shoot – feb 2012
We all love our dogs and many of us want, but never get around to having done, a professional portrait of our fur babies. I organised a professional photo shoot with David Clarry, the photographer, where people could bring their dogs and have their portrait taken. I entered everyone into a Cutest Dog to win one of four fabulous dog grooming prizes. People donated money to enter the competition and the money raised was split between Thornberry and Helping Hands Dog Rescue. It was a fantastic day even though it was bitterly cold, and the dogs were in their elements!
Xmas tombola – Dec 2011
I was still in the process of setting up Hardwick Hounds at this time and this was my first opportunity to help raise funds for Thornberry Animal Sanctuary, a local rescue centre that I am proud to support. I did a fun tombola and gave out loads of grooming gear, dog treats, grooming vouchers and even doggy treat tree decorations! It was a great laugh and I met loads of new faces whilst doing my bit.
Borneholm Dog Rescue Show – June 2013
Lynsey Cartwright of Walkies Pet Services supported the local charity by having a stall at their Fun Dog Show in Sheffield. I helped out on the day and supported the event by helping to advertise it.
It was the charity's first ever event and was a great success! Hopefully they will run another one next year!
Fifth Anniversary - Jan 2017
To mark 5 successful years of dog groomng in Sheffield, we put together a gorgeous hamper used it to raise money for Brinsley Animal Rescue.
We raised £44 which paid for a rabbit to be neutered before it was rehomed.
